Sofia Gkemisi has studied History at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and has a Master’s degree in Teaching Technology and Digital Systems from Piraeus University. She is also certified in consulting and vocational guidance from the School of Pedagogical and Technological Education. She trains adults in new technologies, too.

She has worked as a teacher of the Greek language in private schools and earned distinctions in European programs, including e-twinning. She has also worked as a teacher in a study center and trained adults in new technologies at the Master lifelong learning center. She has collaborated with school counselors in the provision of teacher training in the field of new technologies and delivered awareness raising programs in private schools on the topic of cyber bullying (Arsakeion & Moraitis School). She has led training seminars and delivered papers at international and local conferences and conferences. She has published in respected international journals, and articles of hers have been included in Conference proceedings and book chapters.

Academically, she is involved in the teaching of History and other subjects in the humanities, with new technologies in education, with European programs, cyber bullying and consultant burnout.

Recently, she has been working in the field of adult education in the teaching of literary courses using new technologies at the Open Education Institute.
