Katerina (Aikaterini) Akritidou graduated from the Department of Preschool Education of University of Ioannina and she holds a M.Sc is e-learning from the Department of Digital Systems, University of Piraeus.
She has worked as a Preschool teacher at ministry of army in the department of kindergarten for the children of military stuff from September 2002 until September 2008. Since then, she works as a preschool teacher at ministry of education. As a researcher she has participated in conferences such as the International Conference on E-Learning in the Workplace (ICELW) in 2014 and the Hellenic Conference on Innovating STEM Education (HISTEM) in 2016. She is a writer in three-volume collective work “Aid Training young children. Theory and Practice “, First volume “Management problems in kindergarten for a smooth transition to the Elementary School”, Capter” First Aid in Kindergarten from the side of a preschool teacher”.
Her research interests focus on STEM methodology in preschool education. She has created the apT2STEM training program on teachers based on “Cognitive Apprenticeship” Model and Jigsaw Collaborative Strategy for the enhancement of their professional development.
