Dr. Fotini Paraskeva is an Associate Professor at the Department of Digital Systems (DDS) of the University of Piraeus, Greece. She holds a Bachelor degree in Education from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (N.K.U.A.). She received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a specialization in learning with technology from the Faculty of Education of the N.K.U.A. She has taught at the N.K.U.A. in the Faculty of Education and at the Department of Digital Systems (current position), University of Piraeus. She has had extensive experience in education, especially in teaching adult groups. Her research interests focus on learning and instruction with emphasis on cognitive, emotional and social aspects of learning, and I.C.T. in educational and e-learning related settings. Her publications focus on self-regulated learning, self-efficacy and motivational beliefs in academic and business settings based on Digital Systems. The intent of her research is to develop teaching methodologies in educational and training contexts with practical implications within the Information Technology field. Her current work also involves specific applied research design of the use of I.C.T. in rich training and work environments, such as professional development in I.T. contexts, based on quantitative and qualitative methodologies. She has published a fairly significant work in conferences and journals, such as Computer and Education, International Journal of Mathematics Education in Science & Technology, International Journal of Knowledge and Learning, etc. She has been an active participant in many international scholarly groups and SIGs (APA divisions 15 & 46, AERA, etc).
She will bring her expertise in conducting training methodologies enhanced by pedagogical frameworks such as authentic learning environments, scenario-based learning, digital tools, educational games, authentic assessment e.tc, in the project.
